Description
Relaxed start at Burgäschisee (SO)
The small lake in Wasseramt is full of history: over 6,000 years ago, pile dwellers settled on the shore of this moor lake. Located directly on the shore of Burgäschisee, the Restaurant and Hotel Seeblick offers excellent cuisine and hospitality in a unique setting.
The ride begins! At the start, the cycling tour follows the Old Bern Road (Switzerland Mobility No. 34). Now follow the fourth stage of the Mittelland Route (Switzerland Mobility No. 5). The idyllic cycling path mostly leads along the course of the Aare river.
Rewarding stops along the way
On the way, you will repeatedly pass small villages and towns. In Aarburg, a stop for refreshment is worthwhile. This small town on the Aare river is a member of the association of the most beautiful villages of Switzerland. The fortress, recognizable from afar on the elongated rocky ridge, towers over the old town. The historic town center invites you to stroll and impresses with impressive buildings.
The ride continues towards Schönewerd. Bally Park is a well-preserved example of an English-style landscape garden. The miniaturized pile dwellings in the center of the park are a European unique. The park between the railway line and the Aare river is a green gem. A picnic break is worth it here.
