Maloja - Motta Salecina loop - Trailtrophy route

From Maloja village, the path first leads to the Orden dam, decorated with the artwork Culur by artist Gottfried Honegger. After the dam, the really exciting trail begins, over roots and stones up to Lägh da Bithaberg. The small mountain lake lies in a small clearing. From here, a steeper path continues to the viewpoint Motta Salecina. Once the highest point is reached, the path continues along a panoramic trail above the second lake, Lägh da Cavloc, a popular destination in both summer and winter. From there, it descends steeply down to the lake. This section requires considerable concentration. Upon reaching the lake, the runner takes the path on the right side of the lake and automatically passes the small Cavloccio restaurant. From the restaurant, there is the option to take a trail on the left for the return route or, as suggested here, to follow the gravel road to the Salecina guesthouse. From the guesthouse, the path continues through magnificent meadows back to the starting point in Maloja village.
