Description
The circular route starts at the Maloja Posta bus stop. Past the former studio of the painter Segantini, it leads through a loose stone pine forest to the Torre Belvedere. The tower was once part of a castle with which the Belgian Count Renesse wanted to develop Maloja into a top European destination. Today, the tower stands alone in a nature reserve with raised bogs and glacial potholes from the last ice age. After a long view down into the Bergell valley, we follow the path that winds north and east and leads back to the village on the main road after just under an hour.
