Description

The Magadino area is mainly known for the Bolle di Magadino nature reserve. Magadino can be reached by bus, train, car, or boat. The Orgnana Trail winds through the houses of Magadino up above the village, where it turns right towards Quartino. On a secondary paved road, the trail leads along the hill through isolated residential areas, gardens, forests, and meadows. At Quartino, the village is bypassed, and you descend toward the river. A path runs along the Ticino River towards Magadino. You can visit the Forte Olimpio Museum, a former infantry fortress of the First World War (open from March to October). This area is part of the southern Bolle di Magadino nature reserve and is equipped with very interesting informational panels. There are also several observation points along the route. Those wanting to refresh after the route can do so at the Magadino Lido.
