Description

From Langis, follow the pass road for a good 500 m. At the  "Zivilfahrzeuge" (civilian vehicles) signpost, you leave the road and follow the track that leads through scattered pine forest and up an ancient path to Alp Schnabel. From there, the little snow-covered road leads up to the narrow ridge cut at Point 1755, where you climb the ridge to the Seewenegg and Rickhubel. On the way, a window opens first to the south into the Bernese Alps and then to the north-east with wonderful views of the Pilatus chain, Lake Lucerne and the Sarneraa valley.

The round tour leads eastwards over the summit slope and terrain terraces down to Alp Rick. Freshly snow-covered slopes tempt you to make your own tracks and then to follow the safer official trail in a column to the Glaubenberg pass in the narrowing valleys. The restaurant at the pass summit, which is open at weekends, weather permitting, is always good for enjoying Obwalden specialities after completing the tour before returning to the car park in Langis in 20 minutes.
