Description
The path leads hikers to discover mankind's grand achievement, from the accumulation basin of the Carmena dam (39 meters high, with a crest length of 99 m and a capacity of 250,000 cubic meters of water) to reaching the turbines for the production of precious energy at the Morobbia hydroelectric power plant. These interventions, contrary to what often happens, have not disrupted nature; rather, they have enhanced it. Along the trail, you can admire important artifacts from both the old and new plant, a varied vegetation, and short stretches of the Morobbia river but above all the increasingly powerful sound of its flow as it approaches the mouth where it meets the Ticino river. From Monti di Stagno, there is an unparalleled view of the surrounding mountains and the Magadino plain.
