Description
The gently undulating circular cross-country ski trail, which is prepared by club members, begins at the former Kalthof restaurant above Staffelbach. Away from traffic and hustle, it leads through a scenic area over the plain between the Suhren and Wigger valleys. Occasionally the bise wind sweeps over the high plateau – then snowkiting is also on the agenda at Wiliberg. Cross-country skiers glide around the kite area while watching the traction kites pulling the kiters at sometimes high speed over the heights.
Along the barely used road, the path approaches some forest sections and winds its way toward Wiliberg. On this section, past the second smallest Aargau municipality, you can enjoy an impressive view of the Aargau and Solothurn Jura chains and the Bernese and Central Swiss Alps in good weather. With alternating gentle ascents and easy descents, the route finally reaches the goal at the hamlet of Kalthof.
