Description
Visit the charming rock chapel located at the starting point of this easy walk. Small icicles form in a rock crevice next to the chapel. Exactly where the Kaltbad spring flows and already attracted tourists in the 16th century. It was the first and spartan form of the wellness offer that today lives on in the modern mineral bath and spa designed by star architect Mario Botta. The level path leads through the wintry fairy-tale forest, past interesting rock formations, to the magnificent viewpoint Känzeli. There you will enjoy a phenomenal panoramic view of the cross basin of Lake Lucerne, of Lucerne, and the crowning panorama of the Alps. In 1868, Queen Victoria of England visited this place and wrote her enthusiasm in her diary.
