Jörigletscher Round Route

The Jöriseen round route is the quintessential hike in summer. Compared to summer, it is much quieter in winter though. The landscape is by no means less breathtaking.

The start of the Jörisgletscher round route is at Tschuggen in the Flüela valley. Along the pass road closed to motor vehicles, follow it to just before Rossboden. From there, ascend to an altitude of 2,349 m. Then head eastwards under point 2,507 and east of the mountain range with point 2,712, quite steeply into the Winterlücke and further to the saddle southeast of point 2,940. The first ascent is done. Now follows the beautiful descent over the Jörigletscher to the Jöriseen. From there, it's time to skin up again to Wäschchuchi (ridge gap south of point 2,771). Then follows the second descent through Müllersch Tälli to the Flüelapass road and on to Tschuggen.
