Description

The emergence of the textile industry was made possible by the Aabach. While initially these were still manufactories, over time mechanized spinning mills and weaving mills were established. But not only the textile industry found suitable conditions for production in the region. A number of other industrial companies, such as the canning factory in Seon, the oxygen plant in Lenzburg, the pasta factory Tommasini, the jam manufacturer Hero, the Wisa-Gloria works, the Swiss linen industry in Niederlenz, or the copper wire insulation works in Wildegg. They all used the hydropower of the Aabach. Embark on a journey into the past. The Association for Industrial Culture on the Aabach has signposted an exciting educational trail over almost 12 km. The information boards are located at the original sites of the companies and provide information about their history, industry, and development. The educational trail starts at Hallwyl Castle and ends in Wildegg. If you plan a break at one of the restaurants in Lenzburg and visit some sights, one stage of the entire route can be completed in one day. You can also attach the second stage immediately.
