Description
The winter hike starts in Ibergeregg. This can only be reached by car in winter. From the pass height, it initially goes 200 meters downhill to Grossenboden. Here, during a first break, the skiers and snowboarders on the slope and in the freestyle park "Mythenpark" can be observed.
The path then gently ascends towards Müsliägg to Zwäcken, the highest point of the winter hike. The alpine inn of the same name offers a good place to stop. Here, hikers enjoy a sensational panorama over the Mythen region and the surrounding mountain world with the Muotathal mountains and the Mythen trilogy – Haggenspitz, Kleiner and Grosser Mythen. If lucky, you might spot a chamois or even a deer that has wandered from Switzerland’s oldest hunting reserve around the two Mythen into the high moor. The moor characterizes the entire landscape in the Mythen region: The forest and pasture area is quite flat, making the winter hike easy for everyone.
The last part back to Ibergeregg is also relatively flat. Always behind you: the mighty Grosser Mythen. Along the way, you will repeatedly meet skiers. Those who wish can end the day in the Mythen region at the Passhöhe restaurant in Ibergeregg.
