Description
The route starts in Frauenfeld, passes through Oberwil and after a somewhat strenuous climb reaches Gerlikon. About 150 meters of elevation and thus most of the climbs have already been overcome up to here. In Gerlikon, there are magnificent views over the Thur valley to the Seerücken. Huggenberger lived here with his wife and daughter from 1908 until his death in 1960.
Then it continues to Tänikon, where the women's monastery was founded in 1247. After its dissolution, the Planta family took over the monastery in 1848 and turned it into an exemplary agricultural enterprise. Since 1969, Tänikon has been a federal agricultural research center. Finally, the route runs along the foot of the Haselberg through rural landscapes. High-stem trees and cattle pastures line the idyllic route to the route destination in Balterswil.
