Hochwacht - Grünenberg

Description
A wonderful route with great views and historical background. The starting point is the Hochwacht with the observation tower. From here you can see the Alps and the Jura. The first stretch leads you downhill towards Melchnau. When you come out of the forest, you can already see Melchnau. The path goes past fields where herbs for the famous Ricola are cultivated. The route takes you through the village to the church. Once there, you ascend steeply to the Grünenberg/Langenstein castle ruins. It’s worth spending some time here and even pulling out something for a barbecue from your backpack. Refreshed, the path then leads you down the Schlossberg on the other side to Melchnau. Always following the hiking trail, the route returns to the starting point, the Hochwacht.
