Description
The circular tour leads over seven – mostly wooded – hills around Effretikon. Glaciers deposited and shaped these gravel hills during the ice age. Only small remnants remain of the swamps that once lay between the wooded hills before the settlement was built. On your hike over the hills, you will get to know different types of forests. Three hills offer a beautiful view over Effretikon and the surroundings, including partial views of the Alps. Most paths are comfortable, with small ascents. On the Tänen- and Holziberg as well as Schlimperg short sections go over footpaths. There, it is important to study the map and terrain well to find the respective entry point. Those who shortcut through the settlement area will also get to know the Reformed Church and the Moosburg ruin, both also located on small hills.
