Description

At the starting point of the hike at the mountain station of the funicular, the sign reads "End of the World." A road leads to a forested area. On the left is a rest area with a fire pit. Turn sharply left here and you have reached the "End of the World." This is not to be taken literally: the sign at the trail marker simply shows that the place name is called that. The route continues on a road, then a track towards Lamboing. Looking back you can see the elevations of the southernmost Jura range. You can identify the Bözingenberg or the ridge of the Weissenstein. At the highest point of the hike, there is a rest area to relax and catch your breath. The route then leads on a natural road through the forest and then over pastures with a loose stand of fir trees. After a longer, descending section on hard surface, keep heading towards Lamboing; the junction to the left towards Twannberg should be ignored. The path now changes to a field path and later to a trail. The view opens up to the Plateau de Diesse. After a short stretch of hard surface, turn left at the edge of the forest towards Twannberg and climb briefly through the forest. At the top, turn right towards Prêles. You reach there after a steep descent and after crossing the Twannbach at Les Moulins with a climb through the forest. The hike ends at the Prêles Collège bus stop or at the Vinifuni funicular Ligerz - Prêles.
