Hike to the Farnsburg ruin

On the ascent from Buuseregg to the Farnsburg castle ruin, you enjoy a beautiful view all the way to Germany. Just before the ruin – on the upper meadow – you will find a nice barbecue area with a bench. In good weather you have a great view to the Alps and the children can play on the meadow.

The Farnsburg ruin is an extensive castle complex with impressive remains of the shield wall, towers, several buildings, and the ring wall. It is an ideal excursion destination for hiking enthusiasts and families with several fire pits. From the new viewing platform on the impressive shield wall, you can expect a great view over Baselbiet and, in clear weather, all the way to the Alps.
