Description
The UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch is one of the most spectacular mountain landscapes in the Alps. The hike to Oberhornsee offers unique landscapes in a fascinating setting. The path meanders gently ascending through the forest towards Trachsellauenen starting from Stechelberg. From the mountain hotel it slowly but steadily gets steeper. After 500 meters of ascent, the next inn is already in sight. The last section from Obersteinberg leads over open terrain to Oberhornsee. The view to the steep and partly icy north faces of Gross- and Mittaghorn is simply breathtakingly beautiful.
The path leads back via the same route to Stechelberg. Experienced hikers have the option to walk over the Schmadri hut – Tanzhubel – Schwand to Trachsellauenen.
