Hike Gondiswil – Madiswil

With a sophisticated system, in old Bern troops could be mobilized quickly in case of danger: large piles of wood were ready at exposed locations, which were set on fire in emergencies. The alarm signal was rapidly passed from hill to hill. One of these "signal stations" was located on the Hohwacht near Madiswil. Today there is a panorama tower there. From the narrow, uppermost platform you enjoy a comprehensive panoramic view of the Jura, the nearby Emmental, and the Alpine peaks.
