Description

Start at Lüderenalp

Your route begins at Lüderenalp, which you can comfortably reach by the BLS hiking bus from Langnau. Please note that the bus service is seasonal and only operates on weekends. Therefore, it is advisable to check the current timetable. Right from the start, you can stop at Hotel Bärnsicht to refresh yourself for the upcoming hike.

On the way towards Napf

The path leads you along a mostly wide ridge with continuous ups and downs. You will pass small farms, alpine pastures, and cross forests. Along the way, several mountain inns invite you to rest and enjoy regional specialties. The route is characterized by narrow, scenic paths that repeatedly open up new perspectives on the surrounding landscape.

Summit experience at Napf

After a final ascent, you reach the spacious summit meadow of Napf at 1,408 meters altitude. The panoramic view is simply gigantic: your gaze wanders from Entlebuch over the rolling hills of the Emmental to the Jura arc. In good visibility, you can even admire the Bernese Alps in all their splendor. At the summit, the Berghotel Napf invites you to stop for a meal. Please note that it can be very busy, especially on weekends.

Descent to Mettlenalp

The descent from Napf to Mettlenalp initially goes steeply downhill through the forest. Once at Mettlenalp, you have the option to take the hiking bus back to Langnau. Please also note that the bus service is seasonal and often only on weekends.
