Description

At the mountain station of the First cable car, a walk along the First Cliff Walk by Tissot is worthwhile. A suspension bridge and a walkway have been installed on the steep rock face. You can safely enjoy the view of the impressive mountain scenery. To be admired are the Eiger, waterfall, alpine pastures, and forests. Those seeking the ultimate thrill can speed down with the First Flieger to the intermediate station Schreckfeld. At the starting point of the hike looking east, the course of the route can be overviewed. Here, you must follow the path towards Grosse Scheidegg. Slowly descend on a forest road to Distelboden. Children will regret that the hike does not continue straight ahead on the Munggi path but instead continues downhill on the road towards Schreckfeld. From the next signpost, the indication is Grosse Scheidegg. Alternately uphill and downhill, you reach Grindel Oberläger. A rest area with a fire pit invites you to linger. Easily, you ascend gently to the saddle at Gratschärem. Here the view opens eastwards into the Reichenbach Valley. The last section of the hike leads gently downhill on a forest road to the destination Grosse Scheidegg. Here, once again, there's a view of the imposing mountain world with Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, Eiger, Lauberhorn, Tschuggen, and Männlichen. Glaciers, forests, and alpine pastures often nestled in hollows round off the landscape.
