Heiden-Rorschach route

The Heiden-Rorschach route is the perfect way to experience the picturesque hilly landscape of the Appenzell region and the beauty of Lake Constance at once. From Heiden, the route first leads to Walzenhausen, the "balcony above Lake Constance." Enjoy the unique view over Lake Constance far into Germany. From Walzenhausen, the journey continues past Berneck, Au, and St. Margrethen to cross the national border into Austria. You first ride along the Rhine for a stretch until it flows into Lake Constance. Take your time and let the beautiful ambiance and the calming silence of Lake Constance wash over you. Along the shore of Lake Constance, you pass Rohrspitz before crossing the border again at Rheineck. Alongside the Old Rhine and again Lake Constance, the route leads over Staad to Rorschach.
