Description
The route leads from the Hägendorf station to the village center and then, according to the signposts, to the Tüfelsschlucht. The Tüfelsschlucht offers an adventurous gorge hike with numerous small bridges. The landscape is varied, with polished glacial potholes, waterfalls, rock niches, and mossy stones. Paths and stairs are well maintained and about 1 m wide. It is also suitable for school-aged children, who are encouraged to use the handrails. Wooden walkways are slippery when wet or in winter, and children could slip under the railings - hold smaller children by the hand for safety! There are some nice barbecue spots in the Tüfelsschlucht.
After about 1.5 to 2 hours, you reach the Allerheiligenberg. If you do not want to go further, you can take the bus back to Hägendorf from here.
For those who still have energy, the route continues past the former Höhenklinik towards Belchen, passing Wuesthöchi and Gwidemhöchi. At Belchen, a detour to the Belchenflue is possible and worthwhile (a 10-minute ascent), offering a magnificent view to the Vosges, Black Forest, across the Swiss plateau and the Alps. On the descent, the path passes the General-Wille-Haus and turns right towards Olten, over the Homberglücke to Rumpel, and further down through the Bannwald to Olten.
