Description
The route starts in the middle of Guarda at the PostBus stop "Guarda, cumün." It goes 200 m eastwards through the home village of Schellen-Urslis, and you turn left at the junction towards Alp Sura and Chamonna Tuoi. From here, the rule at every junction is: upwards! From the water reservoir, it goes more or less on a direct line down the slope through the forest, past the small lake Lajet to the staffed Alp Sura. From here – after the half-day ascent – follows a somewhat flatter section (150 m elevation gain over 1.5 km) along the mountain slopes, always valley inward to Marangun. The following last ascent leads over 3 km and 400 m elevation gain, always on the west slope, to Lai Blau. This lies picturesque between Piz Cotschen and Piz da las Clavigliadas and reflects the mighty summits of Piz Buin and Piz Fliana – definitely worth the effort.
The descent is initially a bit rocky but soon leads gently over alpine meadows and gives a feeling of weightlessness. Below Alp Suot, the mountain stream Clozza is crossed, and then you always follow its course. After the Foura Turnina gorge, the stream is crossed again, and then follows the last short ascent back to Guarda.
