Description

Before heading downhill, the Glacier Bike Tour takes you on a loop high above Lenzerheide for a panoramic view of the Central Grisons mountains.

On the descent, you roll along narrow roads through small, pretty hamlets. The route soon switches from tarmac to a forest track and the adventure begins with the Schinweg trail carved into the steep mountain flanks. The "Alte Schin" was once an important link between the northern Grisons and the Engadin.

Civilisation is encountered again in Scharans. You are greeted by a red-coloured concrete house. A few metres further on, you roll past the oldest lime tree in Switzerland on the church square: the now hollow tree is 800 years old.

With Schloss Schauenstein and Casa Caminada in Fürstenau - the smallest town in the world - celebrity chef Andreas Caminada has fulfilled his dream of creating a realm of pleasure. In addition to Schloss Schauenstein (19 Gault Millau points) and the vegetarian restaurant, there is also a bakery and a roastery.
