Description

The Upper Engadin high valley, a lake plateau lined with larch forests in the middle of the alpine three-thousand metre landscape with Lake St. Moritz, where the Glacier Bike Tour starts.

Towards Bever, the route continues along the wide high valley alongside the Inn, which has its source here in the Engadin. In La-Punt, you finally start to gain metres in altitude - you head up to the Albula Pass, the first of three passes on the Glacier Bike Tour. If possible, you should avoid cycling on weekends and in the high season.

The Albula Pass is steeped in history and is one of the most beautiful passes in Switzerland. Accompanied by a concert of marmot whistles, you wind your way through the mighty panorama up to 2,315 metres - not quite the highest point of the Glacier Bike Tour

Finally, Bergün is a pretty village with old Engadine houses decorated with sgraffiti and bay windows. Such a perfect backdrop that the first Heidi film was shot here in the early 1950s, as well as a new version in 2015.
