Gitzifurka 2,911 m

This popular ski route starts conveniently with the cable car ride to Hockenhorngrat (3086 m). From there a short ascent leads to the saddle between Hockenhorn and Kleinhockenhorn – an ideal point for a summit detour to the Hockenhorn (3293 m).

Then follows a first long descent over the western ridge of the Kleinhockenhorn down to the Lötschenpass and further to the lowest point below the pass height (approx. 2670 m). From there, you ascend in a wide right bend to Gitzifurggu (2911 m).

The second, varied descent leads via Tschal, Flüealp, and Majingalp through sparse forest to Majingsee and further across meadows and forest roads down to Leukerbad. A possible detour to the summit P. 2980 above the Gitzifurggu is worthwhile under safe conditions.
