Description

In the most beautiful landscape, you will learn about the formation of the folded Jura here, walk over former sea beds, gain insight into the geology of the surroundings, its composition of rock, limestone, and clay, and discover interesting facts about the significance of the springs as well as gypsum mining and lime burning in earlier times. The hike leads through the area where the Vorbourg fold slid over the Bueberg fold millions of years ago during the formation of the Jura. The start is at the Hölzlirank PostBus stop. Via Fringeli and the village, you reach Bärschwil station, where there is another PostBus stop. Around 15 signs reveal a lot of interesting information along the way about what connects us with the underground. The 15 stops and a lunch break make a day trip for little and big explorers.
