Geo-city walk Glarus

"Experience geology" sounds like mountaineering and scrambling. It doesn't have to be. On a leisurely walk through Glarus, almost every street corner holds a geological phenomenon: fossilized spiral snails or crinoids from the dinosaur era in the town hall fountain, stone slabs full of oysters from nearby Wiggis as the base plate of a house facade. You can even get up close to a shark in the middle of Glarus: in a window frame carved from shell limestone, you can calmly count shark teeth. Ask at the visitor center for the overview map with background information on the different stations.
