Description
After the Hochwang guesthouse, follow the road south. Above the road: Schärmen (small gardens), immediately above the road and above the grid, you will find a small biotope where the alpine newt especially likes to stay. After about 300 meters, take the lower road. At the old sawmill, a small biotope under the road (alpine newt, grass frog, common toad, water strider, dragonfly), shortly afterwards a small pond above the road (mainly spawn of frog and toad). - Ronatobel Bridge. Downstream of the gorge: view of the bizarre, eroded rocks of the Ronatobel; upstream: less stable gravel formations - the road ends at the Quaggis at the edge of the Furner Gorge. To see the gravel towers in the Chuonzentobel, follow the marked hiking trail to Fanin for a little way. Return is by the same route.
