Description
The starting point of the Fuchsboden Trail is Untergrenchenberg. From there a steep path descends to the sunlit forest path Vorderegg. The dreamy winter woodland enchants the senses. The path continues to Längschwang, the former site of the mountain inn of the same name. Besides three impressive ashes and a fire pit, there is a memorial stone here commemorating Federal Councillor Willi Ritschard. The destination is already in sight. However, there is still a brisk descent and a steep ascent before the circular route leads back to the starting point – Untergrenchenberg.
The Grenchen Mountains also have a small, charming ski area where night skiing is possible. Furthermore, sledding and winter hiking are possible. Current winter flyers with all information about activities in the winter paradise Grenchenberge are available at the tourist office in Grenchen. They also provide information about guided snowshoe tours and snowshoe courses.
