Description
Riding through the idyllic vineyards and along the lovely riverside landscape at the Klingnauer Reservoir is a true experience. Many species of animals and plants can be discovered at the waterfowl sanctuary.
In the market town of Bad Zurzach, known for its thermal baths, you mount your bike and conquer the elevation on the Zurziberg. Alternatively, you can elegantly pedal up to the highest point of the route on an e-bike. A refreshing descent follows to Tegerfelden, where the Aargau Cantonal Wine Museum is located. From the vine shoot to the tasting: here you experience wine culture over four museum floors.
Via Würenlingen, you reach the Aare River, cross the mighty stream, and stand directly in front of the Paul Scherrer Institute. You pass the winemaker village of Villigen and eventually reach Böttstein.
Parallel to the Klingnauer Reservoir, the route takes you to Koblenz, where the Aare and the Rhine unite. Through idyllic greenery, you cycle back to Bad Zurzach, where the Therme Zurzach awaits you with its new, spacious outdoor area with a natural swimming pond.
