From Trimbach via Froburg ruins to Hauenstein and Trimbach

From Trimbach station we first follow the historic railway educational trail, which runs directly next to the track. On ten information boards, we learn interesting facts about the old Hauenstein line, from the pioneering era of Swiss railway history. At the footbridge we meet the yellow signposted hiking trail towards «Froburg». Now the ascent begins. Through the nicely situated residential areas uphill, you quickly gain height and a wide view. The diversely formed Jura chains are particularly beautiful here in the Olten region. Over the Marenacher, we then continue to climb through the forest to the Froburg ruins. Although only the foundations remain, this is a striking structure. About 10 minutes above the ruins is Restaurant Froburg. It continues along the Switzerland Mobile Route No. 5, Jura Höhenweg, to Hauenstein, where the descent begins along Switzerland Mobile Route No. 7, Via Gottardo, on the old mountain pass road to Trimbach.

The tour ends at Restaurant Eisenbahn. From here you can take the bus back to Olten or continue along Route No. 7.
