Description
From Schwägalp, the marked hiking trail climbs steeply through the rocky “Musfallen” and “In den Schnüeren” to the mountain inn Tierwies. It offers a break with a wonderful view from the terrace before continuing towards Silberplatten. A detour to the summit is worthwhile (only for alpine experienced hikers!) because of the magnificent panorama. The unmarked ascent route can already be explored from the Silberplattensattel. After the steep descent from the saddle to the normal path, we pass the second silver plate on the south wall and the Silberplatten peaks. The path leads over much scree via the Stosssattel and then steeply downhill again, partly on slippery meadows, to Lauchwis and Alp Unterhofeld. We then hike comfortably to Alp Bumoos to Dunkelboden and via Vorder- and Hinterstelzenboden to Dreckloch, a short stretch along the military road, then towards Schwägalp, turning right up into the forest and back via the Gmeinenwiesen.
