Description
The attractive Aare riverbank offers nature and relaxation for everyone, especially when the deciduous trees wear their autumn colors. From Grenchen Süd railway station, take the bus to the "Archbrücke" near the Biel Lake Shipping Company’s ship station. The walk along the Aare riverbank is a pretty and leisurely sightseeing tour of a different kind. The well-signposted hiking trail initially leads through the "Witi" nature reserve to Altreu. Here a stop at the stork station and the storks, which usually gather on the roofs, is worthwhile. On the hike, many other animal species can be discovered. For example, beavers have settled in the "Inseli" area between Selzach and Bellach. With some luck, you might spot one of the rodents. This hike is framed by a unique view of the Jura heights. Upon arrival in Solothurn, there is ample time left for a stroll through the city, a visit to a museum, or simply a cozy stop for refreshment.
