From Gimmelwald to the Tanzbödeli

Description
The Tanzbödeli is not a down-to-earth disco, but a vantage point in the rear Lauterbrunnen Valley. The path up is steep. So instead of dancing shoes, a good sole profile is required.
From Gimmelwald, the trail first leads into the valley of the Sefinenlütschine, then steeply up to Alp Busen. At point 1977, a narrow path branches off from the main trail and leads to the Tanzbödeli. The site lives up to its name: the flat, grassy plain would have been suitable for a few spirited pirouettes, at least in olden times. All around, however, the plateau slopes steeply. So it is better to keep still and enjoy the magnificent view.
The descent back to the junction follows the same path. From there you continue to the Obersteinberg mountain hotel. The surrounding alp Obersteinberg is a first-class scenic jewel and was therefore awarded the cultural landscape prize of the Oberland-Ost region in 2011. A good sixth of the land area is considered dry meadows or dry pastures of national importance. These zones have a particularly large variety of plants and attract a correspondingly large number of insects. Via Wilde Egge, Schiirboden and Trachsellauenen, the trail descends to Stechelberg.
