Description
The circular route leads over the Rhine bridge through the picturesque medieval Eglisau, over the "Hinterer Stadtberg" with a wonderful view of the Rhine and the listed railway bridge from 1897. Except for a short steep ascent to the Buchberg plateau, we hike on comfortable paths to the Lindenhof.
There, the "Besenbeiz" invites you to stop with predominantly own products like wine, grilled meat and sausage, bread, and braided bread. There is a nice playground for children. (Open from April 1 to the end of October Friday-Sunday. Observe opening hours.) Despite Swiss prices, one should not miss stopping by.
From Lindenhof, the path continues through the Eichhalde vineyards and on a narrow steep root path down to the Rhine. Along the beautiful Rhine shore it goes under the vines of the "Hinterer Stadtberg" back to Eglisau.
