Description
The first stage of the Fricktal Höhenweg starts in the Zähringer town of Rheinfelden. The numerous sights of the old town not only reveal its rich history but also many curiosities. For example, the town clock still strikes seven minutes early today. Beer lovers will enjoy a visit to Feldschlösschen Brauwelt, the largest brewery in Switzerland. The wellness world sole uno invites you to a relaxing bath after the hike.
From Rheinfelden, the Fricktal Höhenweg then leads over the forested Steppberg to the Sonnenberg Tower. From the tower's platform, a wonderful panoramic view can be enjoyed. The hike continues into the Jurapark Aargau and ends in the village of Zeiningen.
Stroller: The route is suitable for ambitious hiking families with an all-terrain stroller. Along the way, there are some steep ascents and descents as well as two staircases just before the Sonnenberg Tower. The path often runs on uneven forest trails, but without major roots and stones.
