Freiämterweg: Widen - Chapf

In Berikon, we pass the cooking house in the old village section. Then we go up to the Geology Park with its fire pit. Via Lieli and Oberwil, we reach the Bärhau forest of Unterlunkhofen, where one of the largest Celtic cemeteries in Switzerland is located. Near Schalchmatthau above Oberlunkhofen, the path makes a slight detour to the ruins of a partially excavated Roman estate. Soon we reach the romantic Jonental with its mystical pilgrimage chapel, the most popular in the canton of Aargau. The destination of the stage is the Chapf, where the east route merges into the valley path of the Freiämterweg and leads to Muri.
