Fortress route

Fortress «Spitz»: Of the originally four existing facilities in the Rigi/Sattel area, only this work is still accessible and preserved in its original condition. Unusual is the armament on lever carriages with 7.5cm field guns 03 L30 (standard gun of the field artillery at the beginning of active service). The infrastructure of these works was minimal. The kitchens, most of the ammunition magazines, and the accommodations were arranged outside the works.

Facility «Eggeli»: This facility was planned in 1941 as a KP front of the 6th Division. It was then used as an advanced KP of the same division. In addition to the fire control of the fortress artillery in the area, the fire of the mobile artillery was also directed from here by the artillery chief of the division. Later, this KP was used by fortress artillery unit 18 as a unit fire control center and also by an infantry regiment.
