Description

Foroglio is a charming place known for its waterfall and as a starting point for various routes. With the steep stone staircase next to the roaring jet, you climb towards Puntid, where the Val Calnègia opens, a long and green valley enclosed by rock walls and alpine peaks with three alpine pastures.

The first, Puntid, with flowered meadows, an arched bridge, and a babbling stream. At the entrance of the valley, a suspension bridge leads to the Splüia Bèla (the "splüi" are shelters under rock boulders used in the past by livestock and shepherds).

The second, Gerra, an alluvial plain with other splüi, used as pasture for cows (nursing cows) and goats. The white-red trail crosses a varied landscape, alternating forest, meadows, rocks, and streams.

Calnègia, the third alpine pasture, is characterized by traditional farmhouses and constitutes the edge of the valley. From here depart various alpine routes. The same route returns to Foroglio. Check the bus schedule to and from Foroglio.
