Fornohütte - Pass da Casnil Sud – Capanna da l’Albigna

You first descend the Val Forno for 45 minutes on the hut trail to the junction at the bridge at about 2200m. The path now climbs and leads past huge rock slabs and over greened rock bands to a terrain shoulder under the eastern ridge of Piz Casnil (approx. 2630m). 

One now traverses a couloir and a little later arrives at a large scree terrace. From here on, the route is the same as before: through a small valley you climb southwestwards to the pass da Casnil Sud (2941m). At the top of the pass, the view to the north face of the Cima dal Cantun becomes clear! From the pass you climb up a few more meters to the north, then the descent begins. Over boulder terrain and meadows you reach the Capanna da l'Albigna (2333m).
