First – Waldspitz – Bort (No. 51)

First you take the gondola comfortably from Grindelwald to First. At the mountain station, you have the option to rent a sled, buy missing equipment at the sports shop, take a short toilet break, or refresh yourself with a warm drink or a meal in the restaurant. Before the actual start, you should definitely also walk the First Cliff Walk.

From First, it first goes a few hundred meters uphill on foot towards Anja's Ski Bar and then on towards Bachalpsee. At the highest point (Gummi hut), you get on the sled for the first time. Now you feel the cold mountain air on your face, but the fantastic view brings a smile to your face. Towards Waldspitz, there are some flatter sections where you can recover a bit on foot. If you get hungry or thirsty on the way, you can stop by the mountain restaurant Waldspitz.

After the refreshment, it goes down through the beautiful forest to Bort. Once at Bort, you have the choice of either taking the gondola back up to First, visiting the mountain house Bort, or taking the gondola back down to the valley. In good snow conditions, the toboggan run from Bort via Mühlebach to Grindelwald is also open.
