Family route (Altstätten-Arbon)

The third stage of the family route runs from Altstätten to Lake Constance at Arbon. The route first follows the Rhine, then the lakeshore – ideal also for less experienced kids on bikes.

Along the route there are regular stops and train stations. Should anyone need a break, it’s easy to continue with the Thurbo train: all entrances are ground-level, boarding remains comfortable even with a bike trailer.

The signposted bike route offers something for every interest – whether water lover, land pirate, game fan, or explorer spirit. Along the way are numerous bathing spots, playgrounds, farms with adventure offers, and other exciting stops.

For a small hunger or big appetite, family-friendly restaurants nearby provide suitable food. Or how about a picnic or a barbecue at one of the many fire pits directly on the route?
