Description
The fourth stage of the Entlebuch-Emmental high-level trail takes you from Trubschachen across the typically hilly Emmental landscape to Grosshorben. The start is in the cozy village of Trubschachen, which is also where the world-famous Kambly biscuits come from. You walk uphill along the Napfbergland border trail towards Rämmisgummenhoger, which marks the highest point of the hike. The Rämmisgumme became famous throughout Switzerland thanks to the beautiful crocus blossoms in spring. Thousands of white and purple crocuses stretch out towards the sun. Shortly before the Rämisgummen, you have the option of turning off to the Erika mountain restaurant to enjoy a refreshment stop with a fantastic view. From Rämmisgummenhoger, the route now follows the ridge, crossing the border between Emmental and Entlebuch from time to time. There are always benches to rest on and enjoy the fantastic views. A pleasant up and down takes you to the stage destination of Grosshorben.
The fifth and final stage takes you from Grosshorben to Schangnau.
