Description

From Engelberg train station, the starting point of the bike route Engelberg – Alpkäserei Gerschni – Café Ritz – Gerschnialp, go to the valley station of the TITLIS cable car and then turn left over the paved Gerschnistrasse (expect work traffic on the road) towards Untertrübsee. Continuously ascending but protected from the sun by the forest, you ride towards the destination. When the forest clears, there are just a few curves until the fork in the road. Here you turn left towards Gerschnialp and back into the forest. From the mountain station of the funicular, it goes towards the Alpkäserei Gerschnialp, where the award-winning Sbrinz cheese by cheesemaker Sälmi is produced – a real gem of cheese making. After tasting the cheese, continue towards Café Bergrestaurant Ritz. This is a welcome stop. Ritz is known for its seasonal cuisine and grilled specialties. On the sunny terrace with panoramic views, one would love to stay longer, it is so beautiful there. The subsequent descent is an absolute must for advanced bikers. The newly built Gerschnitrail offers something for all skilled bikers, from singletrail character to bike park berms and many jumps, it provides a lot of fun and airtime.

For casual bikers, the route leads back via the asphalt road to Engelberg.
