Description
Leave the starting point heading east uphill slightly on a country road towards Meikirch. The route initially follows the forest edge. Here the view opens to the Solothurn Jura. Later enter the forest and descend to Meikirch. Past the church and the bus stop Meikirch Käserei to the intersection with Bernstrasse (the signpost is easy to overlook from this approach). From here follow the sign to Zollikofen: turn right into Bernstrasse and later turn right again into Postgässli. Now the route runs over a field path and turns left later. On a country road past the farm Unterholz and through forest it continues to the bus stop Aetzikofen. On the hiking sign the name is Äzikofen; on the road sign the spelling is Aezikofen. These three different spellings bring a smile. Past Aezikofen (the spelling in the location field of that signpost), you reach the hamlet Jetzikofen and turn left towards Münchenbuchsee. On a country road, then right on a field path you reach the rest area Leutschen with several fire pits. The view is wonderful: far over twenty three- and four-thousand-meter peaks present themselves on the panorama board. From Napf to Gibloux there are over 70 elevations. The hike continues along or near the forest edge, over pastures and finally through forest to Diemerswil. After crossing the rural village, you reach the urban Münchenbuchsee with the train station as the destination.
