Description

The starting point of the hike is the Davos Dorf train station. Then the path leads through the longest Davos side valley - the Dischmatal. At the back, you reach the cozy mountain inn Dürrboden, which is also accessible by post bus and therefore can also serve as an alternative starting point for this hike. At the mountain inn, cross the bridge and walk through the flat valley floor towards the head of the valley. From here you have a beautiful view of Piz Grialetsch and its glaciated north face with the Scalettagletscher. In the mighty southwest face of the Radüner Rothorn, the rocky path leads upwards over the Fuorcla da Grialetsch into a wide hollow with the Furggasee. From here, follow the signpost, keep right, and pass several small lakes to the Grialetschhütte SAC. The hut is located on a small hill and next to a lake which is used as drinking water and is therefore prohibited for swimming. It is not uncommon to see cute marmots right near the hut.

The descent is either back the same way to Dürrboden or via the valley floor of Val Grialetsch and along the left shore of the Aua da Grialetsch downhill. This path is longer, as several uphill stretches and stream crossings have to be managed. You pass Alp Grialetsch, come to a fork (2039 m), and turn left. After a short climb again, you reach the road leading to Flüelapass. At Chant Sura, there are bus connections back to Davos.
