Description

At the valley station of the Diavolezza cable car, the path crosses the pass road and follows a short section of the road before merging into an alpine path. Down over the bridge and into Val da Fain, following the alpine path. It is not uncommon to hear a marmot whistle and the plant life in the valley is special. After about half an hour, the path branches off to the left and ascends steeply in zigzags towards the rocks of Piz Albris. For the last stretch, sure-footedness and a head for heights are a must, and soon the wide plateau of Fuorcla Pischa opens up with numerous cairns and many small lakes. This area is home to one of the largest Alpine ibex colonies in the Alps. With luck and a keen eye, the king of the Alps can be spotted among the rocks. On the plateau, the path branches right and passes Lej da la Pischa and over Fuorcla Prünella to reach Val Prünella. About 600 meters of altitude must be descended to Alp Prünella. There, the path merges into the alpine path that you follow out to Chamues-ch.
