Description
Dalpe is a sunny village in Upper Leventina situated on a plateau at the entrance of Val Piumogna. The cross-country ski trail is directly accessible from the Bedrina Dalpe ski lift parking lot, where toilets and refreshment points are also located. The trail is five kilometers long and extends between the ski lift and the Boscobello forest. In the evening, a two-kilometer section in the Vidresco area is illuminated.
The main trail has a medium difficulty level; despite the numerous ascents and descents, the elevation changes are moderate. It stretches over a very sunny area in the heart of nature. It consists of several curves, some quite tight, on open terrain and passes near small stone houses.
The route offers a charming panorama: the chain of the Alps of the Leventina Valley from south to north, in front of which it is impossible not to be fascinated. Among the peaks of the region are Campo Tencia, Pizzo Penca, and Pizzo Forno, which has a pyramidal shape. The latter is known for its crystals and also for having given rise to the surname Forni, which has become widespread throughout the Leventina Valley from Bedretto to Pollegio and also in Locarno. South of Dalpe, the Piumogna creates a breathtaking waterfall, clearly visible from the village.
