Description
You start at the Clozza fountain near the Ospidal Scuol. Here there is fresh mineral water. For a few meters, follow the road uphill. At the curve, go straight ahead along the river towards the Clozza spring and you reach the hiking trail towards Flöna – Motta Naluns. Through the forest and the impressive Clozza gorge, the path goes more or less steeply up to Flöna. The first 3 km and almost 500 m of elevation gain are done. Along a clearing, continue uphill. During the alpine season, cowbells accompany you here. After 600 m turn right and follow the path towards Motta Naluns. Here the path is evenly steep. Shortly before the intermediate destination Motta Naluns, it becomes steep again and the S-curves really raise the pulse. At Motta Naluns you can end the route and comfortably take the gondola down to Scuol. Or you follow the road towards Chamanna Naluns – Piz Clünas and cover another 1.8 km and 200 m of elevation gain. Here you already hear the first whistles of the marmots and the summit goal beckons. From the mountain restaurant Palma (only open in winter) a beautiful trail on the slope starts, leading to Alp Clünas. After a few meters on the road, follow the signpost to the steep mountain path to Piz Clünas. On the last 1.5 km you ascend 350 m, first zigzagging through alpine meadows and past avalanche barriers, finally steeply in the fall line through rather slippery terrain. On the summit you are rewarded with a magnificent view of the Lower Engadine Dolomites on the opposite valley side as well as towards Piz Buin and the Silvretta group in the northwest direction.
For the descent, the path northwards to Lai da Minschun back to Alp Clünas and then back on the ascent path to the Motta Naluns mountain station is recommended.
